A simple, rapid and accurate RP-HPLC method was presented for determination of secnidazole in secnidazole tablets. Methods: The content of secnidazole in secnidazole tablets was determined by using a reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography. The chromatographic column was Agilent ZORBAX SB-C18 with acetonirile--0.05mol/L potassium dihydrogen phosphate as the mobile phase, the detection wavelength was 311nm and the flow rate was 0.8ml/min. Results: There was a good linear relationship at concentration from 5 to 100ìg/ml; the average recovery was 99.7%. Conclusions: The method is simple, accurate, sensible and reproducible, which can be used for the quality control and pharmacokinetics study of secnidazole.
